Privacy and Your Data
Effective Date: 4 February 2026
1. Introduction
Intel Aero ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our drone mission planning platform (the "Service").
We operate in Australia and comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy applies to all users of our Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Your name and email address when you sign up via Clerk.
- Payment Information: Transaction details and subscription status (processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your card details).
- Mission Data: Flight plans, waypoints, routes, and mission configurations you create or upload.
- Flight Logs: ULog files you upload for battery analysis (processed entirely in your browser).
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Technical Data: Browser type, device information, screen resolution, and language preferences.
- Authentication Security: IP address and login timestamps collected by Clerk for security and session management.
- Usage Analytics: Anonymized event tracking data (e.g., feature usage, timestamps) to help us improve the Service.
2.3 Local Storage
We use your browser's local storage to save your mission data and preferences. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly export or share it.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our Service
- Process and analyze your flight plans and mission data
- Improve our Service by understanding how it's used
- Ensure security and prevent fraud
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Data Processing and Storage
Client-Side Processing: Most data processing occurs in your browser. Flight log analysis (ULog files) is processed entirely on your device using client-side Python execution. This means your sensitive flight data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it.
Analytics Data: Usage analytics are used for service improvement. This includes anonymized event data and technical information, but not your mission plans or flight logs.
5. Disclosure of Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We disclose your information only to the following trusted third-party service providers necessary to operate our Service:
- Clerk: Provides authentication and account management services.
- Stripe: Processes payments and manages subscriptions (PCI-compliant).
- Analytics Providers: We use minimal analytics to improve the platform.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government regulation.
6. Security of Your Information
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:
- Client-side processing for sensitive flight data
- Secure data transmission using HTTPS
- Local storage encryption where applicable
- Regular security assessments
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:
- Access: Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your information (subject to legal obligations)
- Complaint: Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)
